"Balance/Power vs. Force"/ 36"x36" / latex on canvas/ $2500

"I started this painting with a sky of starkly contrasting opposites. Like many of my recent works the subject of duality (as in light & dark, hope & fear, joy & sadness, etc.) is prevalent. The idea is that life, on this level of duality, is a balancing act on the tightrope of the present moment. We maintain our balance by TRUST (the figure’s blindfold) in the POWER of absolute TRUTH (the upper right) to which there is NO opposition….independent of level of duality. This eternal, Holy Instant of NOW is supported by the white dove of PEACE.

POWER is frequently confused with FORCE-the energy of resistance and battling opposition, sustained by suffering & fear (the lower left of the painting-the seemingly terrifying appearance of material FORCE).

Material FORCE is NOT the same thing as spiritual POWER (Love). 

We are lovingly watched over and supervised from higher levels (symbolized by the image in the upper left).”
