"Melissa is a carefully crafted marionette and has been working in theater all her life. She has traveled globally and is a prized position of the Czech Republic. She has been in love with her puppeteer, Andrew, from the beginning of her career. Melissa allows him to move her tired limbs, torso, legs and head, manipulating strings which are attached to small hooks embedded at certain points. She believes in doing her best performance show after show. After so many years, all Melissa wants is to retire and enjoy her life with her lover, Andrew.

Malissa’s dream did come true; she was put in a box which was marked with her name and was officially retired. Although her heart was broken when she realized that she wasn’t human like Andrew and it seemed impossible for the two of them to have any life together.

However, one day shortly after she was tucked away on a shelf in the puppet workshop, Andrew came in and inquired about her whereabouts.  He was handed the box which he tucked under his arm and left for home."
